One Direction is giving fans another chance to relive their epic Where We Are world tour by releasing a concert movie.

The film, entitled One Direction: Where We Are, was executively produced by Simon Cowell and filmed as they performed in front of thousands of adoring fans in Milan, Italy earlier this year. The tour promoted the group's third album Midnight Memories.

In the film, the group, made up of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, perform some of their biggest hits on stage and fans are treated to a 15-minute interview as well as special behind-the-scenes footage.

It will be screened in over 10,000 cinemas across the globe in October, before being released on DVD on 1 December.

Announcing the news Malik said: "The Where We Are tour is coming to a cinema near you for one weekend only."

This is not the first time the group has ventured into the world of film.

Last year they made their big screen debut in This is Us, a 3D documentary, which charts the meteoric rise of the teen sensations who found fame on the X Factor in 2010. It became a box-office success, raking in an impressive $48.6m (£28.9m) globally.

Tickets for the cinema release of One Direction: Where We Are go on sale from 28 July.
