Lewis Hamilton will start the 2014 Chinese Grand Prix from top spot after the Mercedes driver took pole at the Shanghai International Circuit on Saturday.

Qualifying Review

Hamilton was impressive during the practice session and the British star continued his Friday's form in the qualifying session. The Mercedes driver was the fastest during Saturday's last session and clocked a time of 1:53.860s.

Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo will start Sunday's race from second place as the Australian was second fastest during Saturday's session. He was 0.595s behind Hamilton. Defending champion Sebastian Vettel was third after managing a time of 1:54.960s.

Championship leader Nico Rosberg was fourth while Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso will start the Chinese Grand Prix from fifth spot. Williams' Felipe Massa was sixth. Kimi Raikkonen failed to make it to top 10 as he was 11<sup>th. The Finish driver's disappointment continues after he returned to Ferrari this season.
