Android 4.3 Update Schedule Confirmed for Galaxy S3, S4 and Note 2 via Leaked Roadmap

There is more good news for Galaxy S3, S4 and Note 2 users, as a leaked roadmap from French carrier SFR confirms Samsung's plans for updating the said Galaxy devices to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean stock firmware. The leaked roadmap clearly reveals the release schedule for the upcoming update for each specified Galaxy device.

According to the schedule, the Galaxy S4 will receive the update in October, followed by the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 around November and December. Samsung had earlier hinted that all three devices would get the latest Jelly Bean update starting October, but now it appears that the company's flagship smartphone will get the update first.

The report further suggests that the US carriers may release the update a bit late than others. All three Galaxy devices are expected to run latest Android version, Android 4.4 KitKat, out of the box (irrespective of region or carrier), according to Samsung Canada.

Android 4.3 brings several new features from Galaxy S4 to Galaxy S3 and Note 2, while making Galaxy Gear compatible with all three devices (though S4 is partially compatible). Some of the noteworthy features introduced in Android 4.3 include OpenGL 3.0 support, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, always-on Wi-Fi location reporting even if Wi-Fi is off, support for more languages and performance improvements.
